Loved the dance moves while planing vertically, almost looked like ballet.

Whoa John, did I see you attach the jig to the door with Philips screws??? I thought you Canadians only used the Roberts screws ?? LOL
Kristopher Borden Tuesday, January 30th, 2018
Nice jig. So you can set that to tell you where to put the hinges?
og atkinson Tuesday, January 30th, 2018

I love following along with your house renos as I do mine. I've learned so much from your videos!
Bis_Auf Tuesday, January 30th, 2018
I've hung a few doors and had little training before hand. I must be a genius because I did it almost the same way as you. Thanks for the vid John.

Good job. Great to see the troubleshooting.

Great tutorial - thanks!
Tom Truesdale Sunday, January 28th, 2018
Another very informative video. You make it look so easy. What are you doing at the bottom of the door, what kind of gap is there?
Alex Pettigrew Sunday, January 28th, 2018
Great to see some good old fashioned site carpentry!
ttsgeb Sunday, January 28th, 2018
Honestly, I wish the people that built my apartment had hung the doors with as much care as you do. It may not seem like much, but that constant gap is one of those details that really makes a difference.

How's the bathroom vanity doing? I don't remember seeing a video of it being finished?
Emt Scythe Sunday, January 28th, 2018
I've hung tons of doors but I can always learn something from a Master. I love watching you work John.
Johnny Rocket Sunday, January 28th, 2018
Published today??? Talk about good timing, I'm in the middle of installing my own interior door jambs and hanging some custom doors I ordered and was looking for instruction. Thanks for posting.

The compound is coming along nicely..

This is the best and most useful home how to channel!
kmonnier Sunday, January 28th, 2018
"Once you get the hang of it." Lol What about cussing when you put the hinges on backwards?
Jason Barre Saturday, January 27th, 2018
That's a useful jig!
mmm bbb Saturday, January 27th, 2018
What's that stack of wood for across from the door?
Lickmuffin Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Really like the look of that door construction. About how much do those doors weigh?
cjpenning Saturday, January 27th, 2018
3:32 I saw what you did there. :-)
Manesh Patel Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Hey John. Great tips. Have you got a video on the hinge jig? I have about 10 doors to hang in my renovation and that jig would make life a lot easier
Duncan MacKenzie Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Well done, thanks.

I think it is really intresting to see how northamerican doors work completely differently from european ones :)Ours seem much more complex, probably not as easy to make yourself, but i think they would be easier to hang. Don't have experience with either though!
Pat Wicker Saturday, January 27th, 2018
It's nice to see how someone who has probably hung thousands of doors does this.
Brian Binns Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Good video. I enjoyed it. I don't think you can see a gap from the inside. 9:30 The door stop would cover the door from that side wouldn't it?
Fred McIntyre Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Nicely done John! 👊 Cool jig! 👍
Thomas Håkonsen Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Great video. Good tips. I also bought the selfcentering bit. A pain in the ... to use. Had the same issue as you had. Went back to using regular drill bits...
Toby Beswick Saturday, January 27th, 2018
how come you used 3 hinges? I've seen doors with 2 hinges and some with 3, all interior doors, is there a reason?
FOMI1970 Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Is that the planer with the new blades ?????
MRrwmac Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Nice work John! Especially since you made the frame and door yourself. Always a little shave here, a little sand there and done!Looking forward to more of your renovation videos!
Dan St.Pierre Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Finally!! I've been waiting for this one since you built the door. Thanks for the vid and explaining how you do it. Will be waiting for the next one.
Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) Saturday, January 27th, 2018
okay you've dealt with the people telling you to get the specialty corner chisel, but what about the people telling you to get the round-cornered hinges so you don't have to chisel? I know, I know, I'll shut up now... ;-)
DieselQuads Saturday, January 27th, 2018
thanks for the great video, i had no idea there were so many tricks to hanging a door. Very informative
Alaeddin Hussein Saturday, January 27th, 2018
I always hated doing door installations, but seeing how you did it makes me look forward to trying those techniques in the future.
Joel Hansell Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Woodworking in the comfort of your home! Glad to see you working in a t-shirt and temperature above 4 degrees C[anadian]. Though, it's a shame we couldn't hear Rush playing in the background.Thank you, John. I echo everyone else's comments -- no nonsense, practical, entertaining and useful content -- same as always.

Nice job John
Bob Parlevliet Saturday, January 27th, 2018
In The Netherlands we have rounded hinges, so when using a router you don't have to chisel out the corners afterwards. Don't you have those in Canada or you don't care?
Bill Carson Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Definitely my favorite John Heisz channel.

Pumped to have more content on the way for this channel. Logical, nothing unnecessarily complicated, functional, and solid. Dig it.

Joe A Saturday, January 27th, 2018
What is the plan to stop the door knob from hitting the glass window on the other door?
Joseph Davis Saturday, January 27th, 2018
Man that door turned out great John! You do really know your **** when it comes to doors, and everything else.
